Step-by-step: Quick guide on how to part a wig
Creating a part is a useful way to make your lace front wig, lace closure or full lace wig look more natural. But how to part a wig? Most of APOHAIR’s wigs come with free part, which enables you to create the parting to your favorite style. And in this article, we will guide you on types of hair parts and how to change the part of your wig to refresh your look.
Different types of part
Firstly, let learn more different types of paring styles before you get to know how to part a wig so that you can create it easier later.
Middle part
Middle part is also called the center part. This parting is an ideal option for people with round face shape and thick hair. For those having round faces, middle part helps to elongate their faces, and if you have thick hair, middle part balances your hair, keep it away from looking too ruffled.
Off-center part
Off-center part is a variant of the center part with a less severe look. Off-center part is a good choice for square face shape since it adds length to the face. It also helps to balance the prominent features on your face. And just like center part, off-center part is flexible, ideally for ladies who love sports.
Side part
Side part is a flattering part style whether you let it fall to the right or left. It receives special love from ladies since it suits all face shapes. Side part is also a perfect choice for curly hairstyles as it embraces one side and tones up the spirals.
Deep side part
Deep side part is a dramatic version of side part which puts a highlight in your best facial contours like your eyes or your cheekbones. If you have thin hair or fine hair, deep side part is just for you. Yet, it seems that this parting style elevates any hair types and textures. For curly lovers, it’s better to twist the hair into an undone updo if you want to opt for a deep side part.
Zig zag part
Extraordinary but totally useful, that is what we can say about zig zag part. It’s best at concealing baby hairs while adding definition and texture. It will be easier to create this parting style if you have straight hair. However, that does not mean you can go for it if you have curly or wavy hairstyles.
Diagonal part
People with broader faces will fall for this type of hair part since it slims the face and adds much volume to the hair. Choosing this parting, you can combine it with a slice-backed low bun for a stunning look.

Step 1: Place your wig in the wig stand. You may need some pins to secure it on the wig stand to ease the styling process.
Step 2: Spray a little water on the wig. Make sure you spray evenly over the wig and don’t forget to put focus on the top of the hair and where you will want to create the part.
Step 3: If you intend to part the hair on the right side, you should part the hair close to the center point. Then, find a point lying between the right and the center point. You can play around with the parting to find the best part for you.
With off-center part, you can part 1 to 2 cm away from the center point. But if you love the zig zag style, let use the corner of the comb and make a straight part. After that, crisscross as you comb through the hairline.
Step 4: Once you part your wig into two sections, let gently comb the hair forward on both sides of the part.
Step 5: Blow dry your wig with the blow dryer and hairbrush. You should do it in a downward motion and blow-dry flat.
Step 6: Comb your hair and wear your wig to check if it looks right. You can make rearrangement if you feel it still look not right.
