A 4×4 lace closure is a four-inch by four-inch panel of sheer lace with human hair knotted into it by hand, sewn into the crown of a wig cap or into the top of a sew-in install. It has no cap and cannot be worn on its own.
The two numbers are inches of lace, and they multiply to 16 square inches, which is the size the closure market runs on. Four inches of width and four inches of depth is the smallest square that carries a middle part and a side part on the same piece, and that is why it outsells every other size we make.
APOHAIR hand-ties every 4×4 at our Vietnamese factory from 100% Vietnamese human hair, at 30 to 50 grams per piece, on HD or transparent lace.
Building a wig cap. The 4×4 panel is sewn into the crown of a cap, and the rest of the cap is wefted, which produces a unit with a parting at the top and no lace at the front.
Finishing a sew-in install. The stylist sews the 4×4 into the top of a weave so the client’s own hair stays braided down instead of being left out to blend. One 4×4 closes one install.
Packing sets for resale. Our 4×4 set configuration pairs the piece with three wefts: a 20-inch closure with 22-, 24-, and 26-inch wefts, priced from $130 to $185 per set.
Both grades are 100% Vietnamese human hair with intact, aligned cuticles, which matters here because the 4×4 sits at the crown, directly under a client’s hands. The difference between them is processing.
Virgin 4×4 closures are unprocessed and hold their natural shade, giving a colorist a clean base to tone the piece to whatever it is being matched against.
Remy 4×4 closures keep cuticle alignment but have been color-processed to a stocked shade, which suits buyers reordering a known number and needing it to arrive the same twice.
We supply both grades on both lace types, so you can choose grade and lace independently.

Lace grade, length, texture, and color change from order to order. The 16 square inches of lace, hand-tied construction, density, and batch reference match your order.

The 4x4 draws from the same color, length, and texture catalog as the wefts it is meant to sit against, which is the point of ordering both from one factory....
4x4 pricing runs per piece and moves on length alone, because the lace size is fixed. Grade, lace type, texture, and shade sit inside the ranges below.

Stage 1: Receive & Sort Raw Hair
We sort raw donor hair by length, color, and texture, keep cuticle direction consistent, and keep single-donor batches together so a closure and the wefts a buyer pairs it with can come from the same hair.

Stage 2: Wash And Prepare Hair For 4x4 Lace Closure Production
Sulfate-free washing and controlled drying. Set waves and curls with hot steam rather than chemical texturizing, so the cuticle survives and the piece can still be colored or restyled after it reaches you.

Stage 3: Ventilate The Panel By Hand
Hair is pulled through the mesh and knotted strand by strand to 150% density, single or double knots as specified, with knots bleached and baby hair added along the parting on request.

Stage 4: Quality Control and Color Match
Checked for knot security, parting accuracy, lace tension, density uniformity, shedding, and color consistency against the retained batch sample, with pre-shipment photos taken for your records.

Stage 5: Pack And Ship Wholesale Orders
Protective sleeves with care cards, then professional cartons. Orders reach the US in 3 to 7 business days.

The 4x4 is the piece buyers order most often, so consistency between orders matters most.

Factory-Direct Vietnamese Hair Manufacturing
We hand-tie every 4x4 in our own Vietnamese factory, so wholesale buyers source without additional supplier layers between the ventilating floor and the order. The same hair feeds our weft and wig production and meets one standard.

100% Vietnamese Human Hair In Virgin and Remy Grades
Ethically sourced, with cuticles intact and aligned in one direction. The 4x4 sits at the crown, directly under a client's hands, which is where misaligned cuticles show up.
Both lace grades are on the same panel specification
We stock HD and transparent on the 4x4 rather than reserving HD for larger sizes, because the right lace depends on who wears the finished install.

Consistent Quality Control For Wholesale Orders
Every piece passes checks for knot security, parting accuracy, lace tension, density uniformity, shedding, and color consistency before shipment, with pre-shipment photos sent for your records.

Custom OEM/ODM And Private Label Options
Bleached knots, baby hair, single or double knots, custom parting positions on OEM runs, custom colors in 7 to 14 days from 10 pieces, plus packaging design and branding.

Reliable Supply For Growing Hair Businesses
A 20-ton monthly capacity and buyers across 120+ countries support both a single matching piece and a standing monthly program on the same line.
Ready to scale your hair business?
Our factory-direct model supports both trial orders and long-term wholesale supply.
Seven steps from first message to delivery. The first one saves the most money because you order a closure against hair you already own rather than on its own.

Discuss Your Wholesale 4x4 Closure Requirements
Tell us what the piece has to match and where the parting goes. We set both before ventilating starts, so you're basing decisions on something real rather than a chart.

Receive A Wholesale Quotation
Priced against lace grade, hair grade, length, texture, color, quantity, and destination.

Approve Samples Before Bulk Production
Hold the sample against your existing wefts under the light your customers see. Color match at the crown is the specification a photograph cannot show.

Produce Your Wholesale 4x4 Closure Order
Ventilating runs to the confirmed density and knot type, on lace cut to four inches by four, with the parting set before any hair goes in.

Complete Quality Inspection
Checked for knot security, parting accuracy, lace tension, shedding, and color consistency against the retained batch sample, with pre-shipment photos sent for your records.

Package And Ship Your Order
Standard or private label packaging. Orders reach the US in 3 to 7 business days.

Reorder Against Your Batch Reference
Your batch reference stays on file with a retained sample, so the next 4x4 matches the hair you bought last season, not the shade code you wrote down.
APOHAIR specialists support wholesale buyers throughout product selection, sampling, production coordination, quality control, and repeat ordering.
